How are PVC Sheet Piles driven?

Sheets are best driven using a guide frame for alignment. Depending on how hard the soil is, the sheets are normally driven with an excavator mounted vibratory pile-driver with a ‘Piling Helmet’ which clips over the top of the pile.

In soils with large stones or solid objects near the surface, a trench can be dug, the sheets installed, then the trench backfilled

SG625 can be driven into soils with a SPT N reading of 25 & sometimes up to 30. Driving in soils harder will require pre-drilling with a CFA type auger OR using a mandrel to hold & drive the sheet pile. Mandrels can be very costly to build, the size of the project would determine if this is economic
